A.9093 Silver / S.6187 Rules (Signed Chapter 1) Enacts the Health Care Reform Act (HCRA) to finance health care services, expands health insurance coverages and access, mandates survey of health care financing and creates education and illness prevention programs. Also extends the current reimbursement rate (same as Medicaid rate) for in-patient auto and workers’ compensation claims. A.9094 Silver (Signed Chapter 2) Enacts the Lobbying Act to regulate the activities of persons and organizations retain, employed or designated to influence the passage or defeat of state legislation, rules or regulations, or rate making proceedings or influence the passage or defeat of local laws, ordinances or regulations. A.8074-b Rules (Signed Chapter 597) Permits an authorized insurer to provide services from an office within the state to support insurance business of an unauthorized insurer within its system. S.2432-D Johnson (Veto Memo 61) Establishes the New York State driver training technology pilot program to provide non-classroom, self-instruction point and insurance premium reduction courses. NYIA worked very hard to get the Governor to veto this bill. We will continue to oppose any similar bills this session. |
